Pixaria Gallery 1.1.6 now available

The latest update to Pixaria Gallery has been released and will be e-mailed to all current users immediately.

Version 1.1.6 packs a number of exciting new features including the ability to offer free high-res image downloads, a reporting tool for the sales manager and the ability to customise the search form and offer searches by model and property release.

This update also includes a number of minor bug fixes and is recommended for all current users. For full details of what's new in this update, check the version history and be sure to check the template difference viewer if you have updated your themes.

It's been a little while since my last update to Pixaria but I have an update planned for this weekend which will be the last one for a couple of weeks because I'm going on vacation.

Look out for some minor bug fixes and hopefully a few new features as well.

Pixaria Gallery 1.1.5 now available

All current users of Pixaria Gallery should now have received the update to the latest version of the software, 1.1.5. This update makes some important changes including giving the administrator the ability to provide instructions for how to send payment by cheque or bank transfer.

Also included in this release are a number of bug fixes for issues with the store and gallery browsing. Full details of all the changes are available in the version history as usual.

PHP Developer required (not for Pixaria!)

I'm looking for a PHP developer to assist me at the company I work for. The job would be on a contract basis for an estimated four months. The full job spec is shown below and if you or someone you know is interested, please let me know:

FRUKT is a fast paced communications and business consultancy specialising in the music industry. We are currently looking for a contractor to join us at our offices in Central London for up to four months to assist with the development of a number of web applications. The successful candidate will have strong object-oriented PHP 5 and MySQL skills, be able to produce clean well commented code and work to tight deadlines as part of a small team.

Essential criteria:

  1. Must be able to demonstrate strong ability in OO PHP 5 and MySQL 4.1
  2. Familiarity with Mac OS X as a software development platform
  3. Functional understanding of the principles of UML
  4. The ability to write specifications and end user documentation
  5. Excellent written English and communication skills
  6. The ability to work in a small team in close collaboration with the client
  7. Excellent timekeeping and motivation

Desirable criteria:

  1. Experience using the PHP Smarty template engine
  2. Linux and Mac OS X web server administration
  3. Previous experience developing CRM and CMS applications
  4. Experience working in publishing or the music industry
