Translation Update

For all those following developments on the translation front, I have some great news which is that Pixaria version 2.5.1 will now include Swedish, German and Brazilian Portuguese alongside the previously announced French localisation.

For this, I would like to pass on my thanks to Adrian Wackernah (German), Eduardo Hutter (Portuguese) and Bjorn Centio (Swedish) for their hard work. Look out for the update coming in the next week or two.

French Translation Complete!

I'm pleased to report that a French translation of Pixaria will be included with version 2.5.1 when it is released in the next few weeks. For this I must thank Frederic Sune who has worked hard to convert over 1000 lines of text into French and in doing so has earned himself a free license for Pixaria.

There are a number of people now working on translations into German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian. If you'd like to help out, please let me know.

Catching up on e-mails...

I'm now beginning to look at my e-mails and will subsequently attack the backlog of posts on the forums too. Please bear with me as it may take a little while to catch up..!

Back to work...

I'm now back from my vacation refreshed and ready to begin work on updates to Pixaria 2 and development on Pixaria 3.0 which is scheduled for release in mid 2009. I'm also ready to begin adding language modules to Pixaria 2.5 so if you're working on one, let me know.

As a brief aside, my trip to the Dominican Republic proved rather eventful as we got first hand experience of Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike the last of which caused a lot of damage to property in the area I was staying. Having seen the kinds of damage that tropical cyclones can do first hand, my thoughts and sympathies go out to those who've been affected by this years storms, especially in the US south west, Haiti and Cuba.

Haiti in particular has been badly hit with an estimated 650,000 people affected and in need of assistance. You can find out more and support the relief effort in Haiti through Oxfam or Medecins Sans Frontieres.
