Pixaria 2.5.2 is now available featuring a couple of minor admin interface improvements and bug fixes to improve the gallery image sorting tools. This release also includes the final version of the Italian translation including all the Pixie plugins which were missing from the first release.

Permalink del.icio.us Digg itI'm pleased to report that after a three year hiatus, PopCard Greetings 3.0 is now available as a free download from Pixaria.com. Users of Pixaria Gallery will already be familiar with the e-card features of PopCard as these have been included as part of Pixaria since its release in 2006.
Why a release now..? Well, with Apple's recent decision to shut down the iCards e-mail postcard service as they launched Mobile Me, I've been getting a lot of requests for the PopCard script. Rather than put out a somewhat outdated version, I thought it would make sense to tidy it up a bit and re-think the security aspects of it and the result is that it's available for free now for anyone that would like to install it on their own website.
I've also created a demo website called PopCard.me which shows of the card system using some fun photos and gives a feel for what's possible with the script.
Permalink del.icio.us Digg itWith the recent demise of the iCards e-mail greeting cards website as Apple transitioned from .Mac to MobileMe, I've seen a lot of interest in my very old PopCard e-cards script. PopCard is more or less what the e-cards feature in Pixaria was originally based on and it used to be available as a separate PHP script way back in 2005 before I stopped development to concentrate on Pixaria.
Since the inspiration for PopCard has gone the way of the dodo, I thought it would be a nice idea to bring back PopCard as a free script with its own demo website so everyone can enjoy free, stylish e-cards once again. With this in mind, I've created a new website called PopCard.me which will showcase the script and allow people send e-cards as well.
I'd be interested to get feedback on the site before it's officially launched so feel free to swing by and have a look, test out the cards and see what you think. The site's still in beta testing (it's not been tested with Internet Explorer yet) and version 3.0 of the script isn't quite ready just yet so watch this space for further developments. Please do let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions or if you find any bugs..!
Permalink del.icio.us Digg itI'm pleased to report that thanks to the hard work of Pixaria users, I'm now able to offer Pixaria 2.5.1 which includes support for French Canadian, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian and German.
True multi-lingual support in Pixaria is relatively new so there may still be the odd bug or word that hasn't been localised properly. If you find one, please let me know..!
I will be sending out evaluation copies of 2.5.1 to all the translators later today and posting a page providing more information about the status of all the translations.
