For users running Pixaria Gallery and AssetDeck with the French, German and Icelandic localisations enabled, there will be updated versions of these localisation files included in the next update in mid-Ocotber. The new files will ensure that all front end text is available in these languages including areas of the software that have recently been updated and refreshed.
PermalinkI'm delighted to announce the immediate availability of Pixaria Gallery and AssetDeck versions 3.4. Today's release is the first in a new monthly release schedule which is intended to make scheduling and managing software upgrades a more straightforward process.
Version 3.4 is primarily a bug fix release and I've focussed very hard on tracking down and fixing small bugs that while generally not of a critical nature, could be quite frustrating. In the process of doing this work, I've been able to make some important optimisations to the software particularly in respect of browsing very large libraries of files and galleries.
Also included in this release are some much requested new features including an upgrade to the search engine to enable intelligent matching of accented and non-accented characters in words. This now makes it possible to for example, search for the word 'cafe' and get results for the accented 'e' version and it even extends to non-Latin alphabets such as Cyrillic and Greek.
Additional improvements include the ability to disable public registration (which is useful for private or intranet only installations), batch editing support for galleries and the ability to disable ImageMagick support.
I've also implemented an improved system for batch downloads in the lightbox that where possible will offload the zip compression of files to the underlying operating system which makes for much improved performance and the ability to zip up large files.
As always, all registered users are entitled to upgrade for free and can download the files from the My Support section of the website. Note that users must request a license code activation from me by e-mail before using My Support for the first time.
Please take a moment to check out the release notes and change log before upgrading as these contain full details of all the modifications in this version.
PermalinkI'm pleased to announce that self service software updates are now available for registered users of Pixaria Gallery and Pixaria AssetDeck.
To access the new, self service system for the first time, you will need to obtain a copy of your software license code and then use this together with the e-mail address you registered at the time of purchase to sign in to My Support home page which can also be accessed via the support home page.
Once you've signed in, you will see a list of recently released updates to available to download at your convenience. Note that if it is more than a year since you initially purchased the software, you will need to obtain a new license by purchasing an upgrade and support extension from the Pixaria store.
