Pixaria Gallery and Web 2.0

Web 2.0 technology and Pixaria Gallery

Posted on Monday, January 2, 2006

Yesterday I came across a very interesting site called Fluxiom which will be launching a digital asset management service for businesses later this year.

On the homepage is a QuickTime video demonstrating certain aspects of the interface and I was astonished to learn that it's ALL HTML based (no Flash).

I was immediately interested to see how easy it might be to bring some of this interface goodness to PhotoStream and spent yesterday playing with a new JavaScript visual effects and programming API called to see what I could come up with.

The first thing I tried to do was recreate the nifty slider to control the size of the thumbnails, this wasn't as easy as I thought it would be and definitely showed me how rusty I am at JavaScript but I managed to get it working and I'm now working on an integration into PhotoStream.

What I want to know now is what people think of the Fluxiom interface and how much of this kind of seamless integration would be useful in Pixaria Gallery. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts in the forum.
