Pixaria Privacy Policy

The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform our customers, users of the Pixaria products and services, and other individuals we deal with how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual.

This privacy policy applies only to collection and use of personal information by Pixaria itself. Pixaria’s customers may establish websites that are hosted by Pixaria (for example awesomepictures.pixaria.com) however, this privacy policy does not apply to the collection, use and disclosure of information by the organizations operating those websites. Pixaria provides the platform and infrastructure that hosts these websites and their functions but does not access or use personal information collected by such websites except for the purposes of providing and operating the platform and services.

1. What personal information we collect:

We collect personal information in a number of circumstances when you navigate our website and use or purchase Pixaria’s products and services.

We may collect information directly from you, for example:

  • your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact information;
  • if you purchase Pixaria software or services, payment information as required to process your purchases;
  • records of your purchases of Pixaria software or services;
  • registrations and log in information (e.g. username and password) for our Pixaria hosted service;
  • details about any technical support or other product related requests you may make; and
  • other information we collect from you with your consent or as required or permitted by law.

Website Usage Information: We may also collect information about your visit to and use of our website. In general, this information is not personal information since this information does not identify you as an individual and we do not link it to any other identifying information that we collect from or about you. The information we collect when you visit our site may include the Uniform Resource Locator (“URL”) of the Web site that you came from before visiting our site, which pages you visit on our site, which URL you next go to, which browser you used to come to our site, and any search terms entered on our site. We may also collect such website usage information from the websites established by Pixaria’s customers, to use for the same reasons as described above, however, again, this information is not personally identifiable information.

2. How we use your personal information

Our purpose for collecting personal information is to provide you with our products and services in a streamlined and efficient manner, to provide excellent customer service and technical support and to allow all users of our website smooth and enjoyable experience. For example, we use the contact information that you provide to deliver your purchased products and services or to provide you with newsletters or information updates you request. If you use our hosted service we will use the log in information you provide when setting up your account to confirm that you are authorized to use the site or service. We maintain information about your requests for technical support or other product related questions or requests for the purposes of providing you with solutions and ensuring that you have an excellent customer experience.

We use non-personally identifiable website usage information to analyze customer behavior to help us understand how visitors use our site and to measure interest in the various pages. We use this information to improve the content of our site, to make our site easier to use. See section 5 below for a description of how we use cookies on our site.

3. Sharing your information

We do not sell, trade, or rent to others the personal information we collect. Pixaria may share your personal information with its affiliates or with outside agents or service providers for the purposes of providing you with the products and services you request (for example, we may use a third party payment provider to process your credit card payment for the services). These parties are acting on behalf of Pixaria and may not use your personal information for other purposes. Some of these affiliates or service providers may be located outside of Canada and are therefore subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which they reside, including lawful requests for disclosure of information.

Pixaria may at times enter into partnerships with other organizations to offer products or services that may be of interest to Pixaria’s customers. We will share your information with such parties or organizations only with your consent.

Business Transactions: Pixaria or its related entities could merge with or be acquired by another business entity or their respective assets could be acquired. Should such a transaction be proposed or occur, Pixaria may share your personal information for the purpose of assessing or completing the transaction and to continue serving you and other users of our site.

General: From time to time, we may be required to provide personal information in response to a court order, subpoena, or a government request. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful. We may disclose certain personal information when we believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce or apply our contractual agreements or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others and ourselves.

4. Accessing or correcting your information

Pixaria will maintain a file of your personal information for the purposes described in this privacy policy and this file will be stored and maintained on Pixaria or its agents’ or service providers’ computer servers. Pixaria seeks to ensure that your personal information and preferences are accurate and complete. If you have questions about or wish to access or correct other personal information held by us, you may contact us using the contact information provided at the bottom of this policy.

Electronic communications from us, such as newsletters, tell you how to stop receiving them. Please follow these instructions if you no longer wish to receive these messages. You may not be able to opt-out of receiving certain types of communication directly related to the products or services you use or purchase, for example payment invoices, etc.

5. Use of cookies on this site

A “cookie” is a small data file transferred by a web site to your computer’s hard drive. We send cookies when you surf our site, or request information. We do not use cookies on our site to collect or link to personal information, but we can use the cookies to identify your computer in order to provide you with a customized experience or to save your preferences when you use our site (for example, to allow you to enter your password only once on pages where a sign in is required). The information collected also permits us to analyze traffic patterns on our site. This can enable us over time to provide you with a better experience on our site by improving the content and making it easier to use. Pixaria may use third party advertising networks to display advertising on our websites or other websites.  These advertising networks use cookies or similar technologies to track your navigation habits on our websites and third party websites in order to serve you advertising that is customized to your inferred interests and preferences.  For example, a cookie may be placed on your computer when you visit the Pixaria website, which is recognized and used by third party advertising networks to serve you with a Pixaria ad when you visit other websites within their advertising network.   As described above, you may be able to set your browser to decline cookies.  If you decline cookies you may still receive online advertising; however, it may be less personalized.  Some advertising networks participate in industry programs that include web pages to visit to opt out.  See for example http://youradchoices.ca/choices.

6. Protecting your information
Pixaria values your trust and is committed to protecting the information you provide us. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain accuracy, and ensure proper use of information, we have employed physical, electronic, and organizational processes and procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. It is the responsibility users to keep their passwords and access codes private and not to share them with others. You should also be aware that passwords can be cached on your computer. So, in order to protect your account, it is advisable to sign off each time after you have finished using the Pixaria service.

Pixaria employees and other assigned personnel as well as employees or assigned personnel from Pixaria’s service providers or agents will have access to your personal information as required to perform their job requirements for Pixaria.

7. Changes to this policy

If there are changes or additions to the terms of this privacy policy, we will post those changes here. So that you will always know what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have, please be sure to check this page regularly. Regardless of any changes we make to our privacy policy, we will use your personal information in accordance with the version of the policy in place at the time you provided your information, unless you give your express consent for us to do otherwise.
