Credits and Acknowledgements

A project as large as Pixaria couldn't exist without the support and input of other developers through publicly available software libraries. This page is here to give credit where it's due to the many software developers who's open source libraries and components have been incorporated into Pixaria.

Script.aculo.us

Script.aculo.us is a JavaScript library based on Prototype which has been developed to provide a simple framework for building 'web 2.0' applications. It includes functions that enable the use of asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX) as well as animation and visual effects.

The sliding image scaler, drag and drop light-box capabilities and file browser in the admin control panel would not be possible without Scriptaculous.

Script.aculo.us is distributed under the MIT license and is developed by Thomas Fuchs of Wollzelle.

Browser detection

Developed by Harald Hope of Tech Patterns, this PHP function library provides for very advanced browser detection capabilities and is used by Pixaria for ensuring that the correct content is displayed to different web browser clients where applicable.

This function library is distributed under the Lesser GNU Public License.

Archive management

Pixaria includes the PCLTar and PCLZip libraries for creating and opening zip, tar and gzip archives and is used for handling upload of compressed archives of images into the incoming images directory. The library is released under the GNU Public License and is available from the PHP Concept website.

In Pixaria version 1.5.2 and above, the PCLTar and PCLZip libraries are accessed through a wrapper class written by Tanveer Hossain Khan.
