Set permissions on special directories
In order to allow you to manage the images on your Pixaria Gallery web site using your web browser, you will need to use your FTP program to set correct folder permissions on certain directories in the 'resources' folder of your installation.
For help setting permissions on files using your FTP program, please consult the user documentation that came with the software.
Different servers have different requirements in terms of permissions settings for Pixaria but the most secure settings are given below:
| -/resources/library/ | 755 |
| -/resources/incoming/ | 755 |
| -/resources/smarty/cache/ | 755 |
| -/resources/smarty/templates_c/ | 755 |
The permissions '755' should work just fine on most servers but if you run into problems, try using '777' instead. The important thing to bear in mind is that if this step is not done correctly you will not be able to use Pixaria Gallery properly.
Important Security Considerations
If you have to use permissions '777' to get Pixaria to work correctly, make sure that you consider securing these and other important directories against malicious attacks.
