HTML and CSS layout specifications

Introduction to Pixaria's layout standards

From Pixaria Gallery version 1.2, the HTML and CSS layout for Pixaria will be standardised and all interface elements will be documented. For version 1.2, there are three primary layout blocks which cover the bulk of the layout needs of Pixaria's user interface.

The layout blocks are:

Text table Used for showing a page description and plain text information within a formatted three column view.
Form table Used for layout of all forms and intended to be flexible enough to cover most layout needs
Listbox table Used for displaying lists of information such as the lists of purchases in the user account homepage

The reason for standardising the user interface is to make it easier to customise the look and feel of a pixaria website using only CSS.

Each layout block is a table which is given a class name that allows the use of CSS for all formatting of elements inside it. Interface blocks each have their own CSS class attributes and inherited styles which means that they can be formatted separately of one another much more easily than was possible with previous templates.

Note that for version 1.2, the only templates that will fit this new system will be newly added templates. Other templates will be changed as and when it is necessary to make other modifications to them.
