Testing your installation
Completing the database installation
When the files, images and themes etc. have all been uploaded, you need to ensure that your database is updated to the most current version for the edition of your software.
To do this, you need to enter this URL into your web browser, substituting the 'www.mywebsite.com' part with the URL of your own site:
http://www.mywebsite.com/resources/admin/admin.upgrade.php
Don't forget that if you have installed Pixaria into a subdirectory of your site, you will need to include the sub directory path too like this:
http://www.mywebsite.com/pixaria/resources/admin/admin.upgrade.php
When you open this page in your browser, you will be prompted to enter the default Pixaria username (test@test.com) and password (password) to complete the database installation and upgrade process. When you do this, you should see a page confirming that your database is now up to date. At this point Pixaria installation is complete.
Testing your site
If the installation has been successful, you should now be able to browse to the URL where you installed Pixaria and see the default Pixaria Gallery homepage with no galleries in it.
If you don't see this or there are errors on the page, check that the settings you entered into the pixaria.Config.php file are correct in respect of your database IP address, username, pasword, system file path and database name.
If the page displays correctly and you can see the navigation toolbar at the top of the page, click on the link titled 'login' and enter the default username 'test@test.com' and the default password 'password'.
If you are able to log-in you should be able to see an additional navigation item at the top of the page called 'Admin'. Clicking on this will take you to the administration control panel allowing you to manage your installation.

#8 Image download woes? If you want your customers to be able to download high resolution images as soon as they've bought them from your website, be sure to upload the images into your library first. Download links only appear for clients when there is a high resolution image available. |
